The second and third batch of supported devices includes Mi MIX, Mi 5s Plus, Redmi 2 Prime, Redmi Note 3 Qualcomm and Redmi 3S/Prime among other devices.
The improvements made on the latest UI interface, such as CPU acceleration and touch feedback are designed to guarantee better performance and faster app loading. The newly enhanced features include Quick Ball, Dual space, battery saving feature, split-screen window, new file system management, automatic cache cleaning, Wi-Fi speed boost and lock screen shortcut.
A carry-on from MIUI8, the Quick Ball feature is a hovering button and a permanent fixture on the screen. It can be used to customize several shortcuts, including a passageway to unlock the Smartphone. The Dual space feature allows users to work on two Smartphones from a single station.
For example, you can work on two separate WhatsApp, Gmail and Facebook accounts. Xiaomi MIUI9 has also made it easy for users to reply to notifications. Phone users can reply directly to the notices appearing on the notification bar.
The massive improvements are also evident in the icon animation and enhanced photo editing capabilities. The ROM was initially developed for the homegrown Chinese market based on the indigenous FroYo Android build.
How to Install MIUI9 on Redmi 4A and other compatible Devices
If you want to download a MIUI9 Global ROM on your Redmi 4A, you are advised to begin by backing your device and ensure the phone has a battery charge of at least 70% to avoid the accidental shutdown and other inconsistencies during the download.
According to LineageOS ROMs, below are the key steps to download MIUI9 on Redmi 4A:
- Use micro USB cable to connect your phone to a Windows Personal Computer or laptop; then copy the downloaded ROM file into the designated folder in your phone’s internal storage. Once that is complete, launch the Updater app on your phone.
- MIUI 6/7/8: Select update package on the Menu button and select ROM file from the targeted download file.
- MIUI V5: Under the Menu Button, select update package and open the downloaded ROM file.
- Once the ROM file is selected, the upgrading process should begin automatically. The device should boot to the new version once the installation process is complete.
- If everything pans out right and the device goes into a reboot, an approving image indicating MIUI ROM has been flashed over will appear on your screen.
Note to users:
The user with older versions of MIUI V5, MIUI7, and MIUI8 Stable ROM can also upgrade to MIUI 9 using the popular Fast boot method.
However, the technique should only be attempted with an unlocked device.
Users with MIUI8 Global Beta ROM can check for updates by going to the Updater command.
