Every mobile phone has an International Mobile Equipment Identity (IMEI) number that identifies your phone. Your IMEI should be 15 digits long and it can be used to check various bits of information, such as the country of origin, the manufacturer, and the model number.

However, You may want to change your IMEI number to change your device identity. Doesn’t matter whats the reason behind this but the point is you want to change your Android IMEI number and that’s why you are here for the solutions.

How to Change IMEI Number on Android?

By default, Android system doesn’t allow you to change your IMEI Number for security reasons but If you have a rooted Android device then you can easily change your Android IMEI number in a simple way.

Step 1: First, Root Android phone to proceed. This is an important step before continue.

If you have already rooted your Android phone then skip this step.

Step 2: After that, You need to Install Xposed Framework. This is also an important step before continue.

Xposed is a framework for modules that can change the behavior of the system and apps without touching any APKs.

That’s great because it means that modules can work for different versions and even ROMs without any changes (as long as the original code was not changed too much).

It’s also easy to undo. As all changes are done in the memory, you just need to deactivate the module and reboot to get your original system back.

If you already have Xposed framework installed in your Android device then you can also skip this step.

Step 3: Now, Open Google play store and search for XPOSED IMEI Changer app or head over this link to open app page directly then install it in your Android phone.

You don’t need to open the app this time.

Step 4: Open Xposed framework from your app drawer. After that click on three dashed line at the top left corner to open menu and select “Module” then tick mark on the IMEI Changer module.

Once done, Just reboot your Android device.

Step 5: Now, Open Xposed IMEI changer app from the app drawer then click on “Apply” to change your Android IMEI number.

Great, You have successfully changed your Android Phone IMEI number.

Before changing your IMEI number in your Android device, Please make a backup of them. To do that, Just dial “*#06#” and note down the IMEI number anywhere.
