How to Enable Two Factor Authentication Security on Facebook

Turning on two factor authentication security on Facebook is a great way to protect your account from Hackers, Cyber criminals and other unauthorized access. If you haven’t activated two factor authentication security on social media accounts like Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter and Other then I will recommend to use this security to secure your social accounts.

Two Factor Authentication, also known as 2FA, two step verification or TFA (as an acronym), is an extra layer of security that is known as “multi factor authentication” that requires not only a password and username but also something that only, and only, that user has on them, i.e. a piece of information only they should know or have immediately to hand – such as a physical token.

Steps to Enable Two Factor Authentication on Facebook:

The process for turning on two factor authentication on your Facebook account is too easy and It will add extra layer of security to your account so that you can secure your account from unauthorized access.

Before continue this article, I will recommend to read my another article to protect your account and Which is How to secure your Facebook account from hackers, Where you will learn about the Facebook general settings.

Step 1: Click on the small downward-facing arrow in the upper right-hand corner to navigate to “Settings.” From there, click on “Security” on the left and select “Use two-factor authentication” from “Setting up extra security“.

After selecting “Use two-factor authentication“, Click on “Edit” option.

Step 2: Now add your phone number to use your phone as an extra layer of security to keep other people from logging in to your account.

To do that, Click on “Add phone number” and Select your country code then fill your cell number which you want to use for security purpose then click on “Continue“.

After clicking on “Continue“, You will receive a Verification code/ OTP code on your given cell number. Now enter your verification code on the next step and click on “Continue“.

 After confirming your phone number, You need to save the settings after turning on the text messages.

To do that, Tick on “Turn on text notifications“, Then “Save settings“.

When you save the settings, It will automatically enable the two factor authentication security, If doesn’t then click on “Turn on” on the top of “Use two-factor authentication” section.

Now as you have turned on two factor authentication security on Facebook, You are far from account hijacking.
